SAYINGS/ ADVICES OF MOULANA MASEEHULLAH KHAN SAHEB (R.A.)

Posted in Akaabir, Misc at 9:41 pm by Nabeel Khan

Senior Khalifa of Hazrat Thanwi (RA)

There is a great difference between assuming seniority and being made a senior.

How can we complain about the laymen? Even the condition of the learned is now deteriorating.

Every principal should remain concerned (about the running of his institute).

The important thing is work (good deeds), not name or fame.

Nowadays the tendency among people is more towards outer display or show.

It is necessary to have discipline and order in everything.

Earning is not in your control, but spending is.

Today there is an abundance of shrewdness and a scarcity of Intelligence.

Generosity is the remedy for jealousy.

Each person wants to make the next person think like him.

Suspicion is the root of all faults.

It is the experience of thousands of Wise people that increasing friendship and relations is spiritually destructive.

If I find anger anywhere I shall slaughter it, for it has caused a great deal of destruction.

Continue to take stock of your actions.

Don’t be hasty in making someone your close friend, for hypocrisy has become widespread.

Do not mix too much with acquaintances, for much time is wasted in their company.

To have jealousy for a Muslim is a sign of destruction.

Make good character and noble speech, coupled with taqwa and humility, your life-long constitution.

Today’s times are very delicate. It is imperative to recognize the era you live in.

One should regard service to the Ulema as the highest and most virtuous service.

Swallow grief and swallow anger but feed others with sweetness.

“May Allah grant us the ability to differentiate between truth and falsehood and save us from innovations”.

i used to visit the shaykh as a kid and remeber vividly that he was almost always seated in ‘qaidah’ with a subtle smile adorning his face. my father when growing up spent his vacations in the company of hadhrat and he recounts that abbaji, as hadhrat was referred to in jalalabad, exuded so much ‘jamaal’ that even a stray barking loudly would be reason for alarm amongst the locals.

My Uncle has been a Mureed of Hadrat Maulana Maseeullah Saheb. And I’ve heard lots of beautiful things about him. One very interesting thing that my uncle told me about Maulana Masseullah Saheb was that he was so patient and humble which is beyond any explanation.

I would like to share one experience that my uncle shared with me- Once my uncles were sitting in the suhbat of Hazrat. There came another man (probably Majzoob or Mast). That guy being (Majzoob) begun asking Hazrat one thing again and again that if he can get himself accommodated in Hazrat’s garden. And Maulana Masee’ullah Sahab was like-“Yes! You can”. He constantly kept on asking same thing over and again for around 45 minutes or may be more. My uncles told me that after having enough from him they begun getting irritated by his continuous interruption but Hazrat didn’t show any sign of annoyance. Every time that guy asked him about garden thing Hazrat would reply in yes and that too with a smile.

May Allah grant us such patience.

A Student and mureed of Moulana Maseehul-Ummat, recounts that once during his student days, they went to Maseehulummat (RA) and were waiting in the veranda where sun-rays were lighting it. Maseehulummat came out and asked “you are eating sunlight?” and he smiled and said we are commanded to drink a thing which is haraam to do and it is ANGER. (Ghussa ko pee lena chahiye).
It was MaseehulUmmat’s routine to read letters and during his later days, another teacher of the madrasa used to read the letters to MaseehulUmmat. The teacher used to keep some letters aside, which was noticed by Maseehulummat. Upon enquiring the teacher said that there are curses and bad words in those letters which are not pleasing to hear or read, however Maseehulummat said “No, Please read those letters, people call us Hazrat, Hazrat and elevate our Nafs, and these critical letters tell us some things which we may be ignoring, these are for our Islaah” ALLAHUAKBAR, only greats can do it.
Once I had written to MaseehulUmmat regarding wasawis, to which he had replied “Kya Shaitaan bhi Moo lagane ke khabil hai?” “IS SHAYTAN WORTH TO BE ENTERTAINED?”
May Allah light up his grave with noor. Amin.
