What Do You Get From Looking at Your Shaykh?

My Shaykh, Hazrat Maulana Shah Hakeem Muhammad Akhar Sahib (DB) was once asked, “If a person looks at their parents with love and affection, then according to the hadeeth they get the reward of an accepted (nafl) hajj.  What would be the reward of a person who looks at their shaykh with love and affection?”  Hazrat (DB) replied, “They will get Allah, Himself, as the reward.”

The reason for this is that a true and sincere mureed only loves and befriends their Shaykh to acquire the love of Allah in their heart.
