The Humbleness of the Servants of the Ahlullah

When Hazratwala (DB) was about to exit the masjid, Shaykh-ul-Hadeeth Maulana Haroon Sahib (DB) – of Jami’ah In’aamiyah, South Africa – had taken Hazrat’s shoes to place before him.  At this, Hazrat remarked, “Look, this is the path of Allah.  If he wasn’t a mureed, then everyone would be placing his shoes for him, and he would not do the same for others, and his nafs would swell up and say, “there is no one like me.”  After some time, Hazrat said, “A great knowledge has just been granted to me.  When a servant becomes the served then his arrow of servitude (‘abdiyat) remains at a ninety degree angle towards Allah.  That person who straight away becomes one who is served without spending some time in the service of another, then this person becomes an embodiment of pride.”
